Priority Area 1: Decrease youth smoking rates
- Community activism among youth to support community change
- IHSAA role model student program which trains nominated athletes to give presentations on tobacco
Priority Area 2: Increase proportion of Hoosiers not exposed to secondhand smoke
- Adoption of comprehensive tobacco policy
- Work on local, county and state wide smoking ordinances
- School district adoption of comprehensive tobacco policies
- Target East Allen County and Northwest Allen County School Districts
- Proportions of smoke free public housing
- Work with FWHA to adopt comprehensive tobacco policies
- Tobacco policy change on college/university campuses
- Work with all colleges on their tobacco policies as well as tobacco education and prevention offered on site
Priority Area 3: Decrease Indiana adult smoking rates
- Cessation system change including Indiana Quit Line
- Increase the number of preferred providers, employers and organizations
- Assist healthcare providers and systems implementation of 2008 Clerical Practice Guidelines
- Increase proportion of worksites that provide employer sponsored tobacco treatment services and benefits for employees who use tobacco
Priority Area 4: Protect and maintain a state and local infrastructure necessary to lower tobacco use rates
- Increase partners within a broad based coalition
- Increase participation by groups representing disparately affected populations
